About Us

Our business began in 1983 in a little store front down the street. Dwight Thompson, our company's founder, sold new and used furniture, appliances, tools and everything in between. Which is where our original name Susie's Variety began. Many people ask who is Susie? Dwight's daughter April Suzanne was known as 'Susie' especially by her father. She now prefers April but we still sneak in a 'Susie' for fun.

Dwight had quite the business mind, and before he knew it he had outgrown his little store. He expanded and built our current location, where the business continued to flourish. This lead to another location across the street and a large warehouse to keep up with all the business.

Being the hardworking businessman Dwight was, he knew the only way to attract customers was great prices and great customer service. He instilled these values in his children, showing them not only how to run a successful business but how to make customers feel valued and appreciated.

Unfortunately, Dwight is no longer with us as he passed away in August, 2006. However, his spirit and values live on through his wife Nancy, his daughter April, and his son Paul, and the rest of the staff here at Susie's Furniture. We are very proud of our business and are looking forward to continuing Dwight's legacy.
